THE ORIGINAL INTERNET STORY
One student. One page. One million pixels.
Alex Tew launched the original Million Dollar Homepage in August 2005 to pay for university. He divided a 1000×1000 image into ad blocks, charged one dollar per pixel, and sold the final block in January 2006. The page ultimately raised $1,037,100 and became one of the web’s defining viral experiments.
This edition keeps the rules people remember: one finite wall, €1 per pixel, permanent placement, and a direct link. The only practical change is the checkout: no email negotiation, no account and no back office to learn.
